Do the FOREIGN PHONE IN JAPAN?

Due to the use of different technologies, our phones usually not work in Japan. Especially because there is no GSM network, so that GSM phones will not work there. There are two things necessary for our phone to work there:

  • Support for Japanese mobile network - The only foreign phones that work in Japan are some 3G models, fortunately the number of compatible phones is increasing. Contact your provider to inquire about your 3G phone in particular.
  • International roaming plan or rental SIM card - With international roaming plan (we'll provide your service provider) you use your phone (provided it meets the above requirements) and your number, but the charge for international roaming rates often be very expensive. Alternatively, rent a SIM card from a Japanese supplier can use your own phone number with a Japanese at much lower rates.
  • Here I put a list of some phones it is confirmed that work (and personal opinion imagine higher versions of these phones also will work):

Do the Japanese phones outside of Japan?

The vast majority of Japanese phones will not work beyond their island due to network differences, but there are phones available that can operate on 3G networks and GSM roaming with an appropriate system, and yet many of its features not be available. But the biggest obstacle is that most of the mobile SIM card NOT USE Japs, and the few who use it are blocked and it is almost impossible to free them. In addition, the functionality of these phones is so integrated with the peculiarities of each service provider both hardware and software sometimes can not even use a Japanese phone from a company in another.

HOW TO GET A MOBILE PHONE.

    Rental of terminals:

Hiring a terminal usually requires a photo ID (passport) and a credit card. cellphone-pretty-chick-8.jpg This is usually the only way to have a phone in Japan for the average tourist. There are many companies with positions at airports, there are also companies that you can bring the phone to your hotel or home you can return to the airport or sending it by mail.

The cost for renting a phone varies, usually consists of income per day (between 250 and 1000Y) plus payment for the use (between 70-200 yen per minute call, the reception is free). Most companies rates you get at Narita are similar, alugnas make the phone discount for booking online. Here I placed the links to some of these companies if you decide:

    GO MOBILE

    PUPURU

    JAL GROUP

JCR * Eye for PowerUsers ;)

    JAPAN RENTAFONE

    ADAMPHONES

    Prepaid Phone
Due to abuse and fraud produced the prepaid system, the purchase of a prepaid mobile requires proof that you reside in Japan, as a Japanese driver's license or alien registration card. These work just like the European prepaid, but you can not get them, not deepen.

In my company have assured me that for a mobile work there has to be quad band and 3G, but I've seen you on the list since they are not all ... The tri-band quad also work?
